Your journey gets off to a leisurely start in Chur, as the train trundles past the town wall, the Maltese Tower and the Upper Gate. But the rails quickly leave the bustling town and continue on into the surrounding countryside. The line of the Red Train suddenly turns into a mountain railway. It takes just over 26 km for the Arosa Line to climb more than 1,000 metres. The train seems to float in the air as it crosses the elegantly-designed Langwieser Viaduct.
After an one hour journey you will arrive in Arosa and a pick up by the hotel shuttle can be arranged on request.
You can reach Arosa by car from all over Switzerland, Italy, Germany and Austria.
Take the A3 until Chur and then just follow the signage to Arosa. After an app. 45min drive and 361 curves you will arrive at the hotel.
In case of snowfall snow chains or 4x4-drive might be mandatory to pass the mountain road up to Arosa.
If you prefer to avoid the serpentines from Chur to Arosa, there is the possibility of leaving the car in the parking garage next to the train station in Chur (Park & Ride, app CHF 10.00 per day and car) and take the helicopter or train up to Arosa.
Taxi and limousine transfers are bookable upon availability and on request.
According to the moto "come fly with me", you can reach Arosa from all national and international airports by helicopter. Take off in Chur is possible as well.
